The Person Behind the Pages

Hi, I’m Conrad. I write about the messy beauty of living and loving on purpose.

I’m an author, husband, and passionate believer that life gets infinitely better the moment we stop pretending we have everything figured out and start showing up with honest intentionality.

The Origin

How I got here (and why I write)

A little backstory on why marriage, vulnerability, and intentionality became my life's central craft.

Like a lot of people, I spent years assuming that the most important things in life would simply take care of themselves. I believed good relationships flourished on romantic momentum alone, that personal growth happened automatically with age, and that maintaining a cool, unflappable exterior was the goal of adulthood.

"I realized that drift is the default state of human beings. When we stop choosing on purpose, gravity takes over."

It didn’t take long for reality to shatter those assumptions. I saw how easily marriages wither when partners stop making conscious choices to pursue, listen, and cherish each other. I saw how exhausting it is to walk around pretending to be invulnerable, always trying to present a pristine image to the world while hiding our human awkwardness.

That realization sparked two parallel obsessions that now define all of my work:

01

Deep Intentionality

The conviction that love, intimacy, and meaningful craft require active cultivation every single day. This is the heartbeat behind Husband On Purpose.

02

Radical Humility

The ability to laugh at ourselves, strip away self-importance, and find peace in our unvarnished reality. This is the core of Smile When You Poop.

When you put intentionality and humility together, something remarkable happens: you stop taking yourself too seriously, and you start taking your commitments deeply to heart.

The Work

What I create and why it matters

Each book and tool I create is designed to solve a specific internal tension—with honesty, warmth, and zero fluff.

💩 New Book

Smile When You Poop

Finding peace in the unglamorous

Why I wrote this book:

We are bombarded with curated perfectionism that makes us feel ashamed of our natural flaws, bodily realities, and awkward missteps. Smile When You Poop is an unapologetic, humorous, and surprisingly contemplative invitation to drop the armor, laugh out loud, and embrace our shared humanity.

💍 Flagship Book

Husband On Purpose

Intentional love & partnership

Why I wrote this book:

Most relationship advice is either overly clinical or hopelessly sentimental. Husband On Purpose gives husbands practical, heartfelt, and convicting frameworks to move from passive coexistence into proactive, joyful, and resilient partnership.

⚡ Toolkit

90 Atomic Angles

Perspective shifting engine

Why I built this system:

Whenever we hit creative or emotional roadblocks, our biggest obstacle is usually our fixed angle of view. 90 Atomic Angles gives writers, thinkers, and problem solvers a modular deck of lateral perspectives to unlock fresh momentum instantly.

My Guiding Compass

What I believe (and practice)

These four principles shape how I live at home, how I write my essays, and how I treat my readers.

1

Action Over Theory

If an insight can’t be lived out at the kitchen table or during a late-night talk, it’s not useful. We prioritize practical habits over abstract theories.

2

Humor as Healing

Laughter dissolves shame and defensiveness faster than any lecture. When we laugh at ourselves together, we create space for honest change.

3

Show Up On Purpose

Passivity is the enemy of intimacy and creativity. The best things in life are actively chosen, nurtured, and defended from daily distractions.

4

Radical Honesty

No guru personas. No false highlight reels. Just a fellow human being sharing real observations from the thick of marriage and life.

Behind The Scenes

When I’m not writing at my desk...

Writing is where I process life, but living is where the writing comes from. When I’m not typing out essays or refining chapters:

  • ☕ Coffee & Conversations: I believe half of life’s great problems can be solved over a slow cup of black coffee and uninterrupted eye contact.
  • 🚶 Long Walks & Bad Jokes: Walking without headphones is my favorite antidote to creative block and digital clutter.
  • 📚 Voracious Reading: From classic essays to contemporary psychology and humor memoirs, my nightstand is always precariously stacked.
  • 🏡 Practicing What I Write: Constantly striving (and sometimes stumbling) to be the husband, friend, and human I write about on these pages.
